For All The Men I've Loved Before........

HA! I knew that title would get ya going! I have a question for my male readers/lurkers/friends. Anyone can answer but I'm trying to find some insight into the male mind.

OK. Why do some guys like porn, especially on the internet? Why do most guys say it has nothing to do with their significant other, it's just men are more "visual"? Yes, I know my tone was snide on the second question. I'm sorry but someone, who shall remain anonymous, really hurt me, and it's not your fault. But that damn missing leg on your second chromosome has been known to cause extreme stupidity in the male population.

I have issues with porn being a Christian, a mother, a female and dang, I was raised Catholic!

Another question. I have many male pals here online but I think we know our boundaries. Most of us are married or in committed relationships, what makes one go beyond the boundaries?

This is not a debate on whether porn is a first amendment right or any political type issue. I just know that I cannot comprehend and thought some of you could help.

Question for EVERYONE: Did you all know there are dating/sex sites for married people? I did not until recently. I know, call me naive. I tend to trust until given reason not to. This whole thing has taken a permanent toll on my view of quite a few things.

I'm hanging in there though I have some hidden anger. I will keep tract of that anger for counseling. Sigh, I really detest being a cliche.

Common Sense

Thirteen Ways I Could Show More Common Sense

1. Remember this blog is more public than the diary I kept as a young teen.

2. Realize anyone can be on the internet, pssssssst~even the FBI! EEK!

3. The CIA is everywhere except gathering accurate info to guide our government.

4. Stuff people put on the Internet can hurt others. Anyone else enraged over the teenager who hung herself after an adult neighbor taunted her on My Space?

5. No one is perfect, not me, not him, not you.

6. I am an adult, I just wish, some days, that I wasn't.

7. College means committment no matter what I study or whether I like the class or not.

8. Silly is a good thing 99% of a time. :P

9. Friends, online and off, are my best resource for support and advice. Thanks!

10. Life can be difficult.

11. Never make assumptions.

12. Trust my instincts.

13. Appreciate the good parts of my life always.

Thoughts I've Had Recently

If you've been following the drama, I think you'll appreciate these thoughts I have had:

1. WHAT THE F***?!??

2. No really, what did you want to tell me?

3. WHAT did he just say?

4. No way. He knows better. I've made it very clear how strongly I feel about this subject....

5. When the hell would he have the time?!!?

6. I never thought he was a typical man. He promised. I'm better than this.

7. I'll show him!

8. Dayam! That was fantastic!

9. (Humming through T-day)

10. Not so hard, doing laundry. I can do this.

11. No I shouldn't spy......I HAVE to!

12. Oh Good Lord. That is disgusting! He likes WHAT???? Hells NO! Unnacceptable/does not coincide with my ethics.

13. I need to get OUT OF HERE! NOW!
After leaving an incriminating printed profile with a HUGE red A on the top, along with my rings and my necklace.......I texted to his phone: Good Bye

I have a few more than thirteen this week.

14. Deep breaths. Emails to profs. Texted BBB. Checked into hotel.

15. soft bed, sleepieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

16. I listened to voicemails, read emails and invited him to breakfast.

17. We're working on it...........to be continued..............

18. Prayers always accepted.

Reality Hurts

COME live with me and be my Love,
And we will all the pleasures prove
That hills and valleys, dale and field,
And all the craggy mountains yield.

There will we sit upon the rocks
And see the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.
by
Christopher Marlowe

I adored this poem in my early teens. I considered it romantic and dreamy. Sigh. To be some simple and innocent and trusting again.
The Rascal Flatts song epitomizes my philosophy for my life now.

Rascal Flatts, Stand Lyrics

You feel like a candle in a hurricane
Just like a picture with a broken frame
Alone and helpless, like you've lost your fight
But you'll be alright, you'll be alright

'Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what your made of
You might bend 'til you break'Cause it's all you can take

On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe you hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand

Life's like a novel with end ripped out
The edge of a canyon with only one way down
Take what your given before it's gone
And start holdin' on, keep holdin' on

On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe you hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand

Every time you get up and get back in the race
One more small piece of you starts to fall into place - yeah

On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe you hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand

Yeah then you stand - yeah Yeah, babyWoo hoo, Woo hoo, Woo hoo

Then you stand - yeah, yeah

Update on the Janice News Just cuz I love ME!!!

Hello my kind, kind friends. I am overwhelmed by your generosity and support, May God bless you all with friends that as good as ya'll are!

I walked out of my house, leaving a clear message today. I'm at a local hotel. I needed breathing room. I needed to calm down after some further revelations. I needed to be alone where nobody knows my name.

I am fine. I hope to get a bunch of studying dome tonight before and after House. I will most likely go home tomorrow and try very hard to save my marriage, my family, me. I'm not big on divorce and 21 years is many years to just throw them away.

I will pamper myself with room service and try to memorize the anatomy of the brain, the 12 cranial nerves and what they do, the peripheral nervous system and other sundry facts.

I love you all. Seriously.

Making My Mark

Disclaimer: I doubt I'll leave this post up more than today or I will edit it significently so read it while you can. Rant ahead. ...

It's Heads Or Tails Tuesday! For more exciting posts and takes on the theme please go over to Barb at Skittles Place! Tell Her Janice sent you. :)

I'm a might irritated at the moment. Not that this is a revelation, but it was made quite clear by all 3 men in my life that the mark, the impression, I'm leaving these men with is singularly unremarkable. I'm gonna channel Rodney Dangerfield and say, "I don't get NO respect!"

I am under-appreciated like no body's business. It is similar to the teacher voice in Charlie Brown cartoons. They are hearing wah wah waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh, when I am speaking words, ideals, issues, opinions, questions and/or statements. Frankly I feel this is bull pucky. Because I am definitely worth appreciating.

I am smart, funny, ethical, creative, flexible, helpful when I could be strident and whiny, don't think I haven't been tempted to act that way. They would ignore me. Still.

This is a two person marriage. I am responsible for half. McHub did not sign on for a basket case~which I was for a long time after my youngest child died in my arms. Through all my grief and depression I never got bad enough to be unreactive. I always got out of bed and dealt with the boys 24/7. We grieved in extremely different ways and that magnified our differences and disconnect. I, however, have not made the choice the walk away mentally OR on the internet or in life. My kids were both aware of what was going on. I'm the only deaf, dumb and blind one in this house because I trusted my husband with my one and only heart, rebuilt but still there.

I spent the past 5 days making sure McHub was aware I was here, right in the same room. I jumped him in the living room when the boys were out.(The lack of intimate relations in this marriage were not initiated by me. I've been turned down more times than the 40 year old virgin) Then I cleaned the kitchen, made one hell of a Thanksgiving dinner, presented with tablecloth, holiday themed rubber duckies for decoration and food presented with effort I don't normally make, cleaned up after dinner, kept kitchen clean all weekend and did all the laundry yesterday. McHub has no idea who this Stepford wife is or was. I did all this cheerfully. Purposely. Making my mark clear as day. Some people are confused.

My 16yo laughs when I tell him to do something. I ended up driving the 15 miles to Barnes and Noble(only bookstore even close) to grab him another copy of The Scarlett Letter. I had walked in at 7:45pm after 8 hours on campus. I reminded the kid 19,000 times this weekend about this book and project. It was if I were invisible and inaudible. No thank you. That was the last straw. Next time he's irresponsible he can eat it. Sorry boy, but that wasn't my responsibility.

The 19yo is doing his own thing, mostly. I am a piece of the furniture.

Mark My Words, the South(in in this case me) WILL rise again. I will rise as a professional female who can support myself and enjoy what I do for a living. Enough of subjugating myself for any freaking male, dead or alive.

I have a major test in A&P Wednesday. Their idea of support...huh? You're in school? When I triumph over a subject(A&P) they barely even hear me. I am going to stop telling them. One day they will notice I am gone. It won't be until I finish my education(or at least the undergrad part)but it will happen. I deserve better. Oh yes I do. I will make my mark and whether they figure that out or not I am going on. To battle on several battlefields. Send prayers please.

Fighting the Good Fight

Time for Opus and I to ride off to fight the battle of transferring, algebra, leg muscles, anatomy of the brains, some lab stuff and so on. As I leave I must say one thing:

William Wallace!!
(oh yeah. I painted myself half blue too!)
